This morning a sixteen year old boy got himself up, got dressed, ate breakfast and went to the first day of school.
What makes this remarkable is that he did so with no encouragement or urging from a parent. He’s never known who is father is. His mother spends more time at her boyfriend’s house that in her own. And when she is home she is usually high on pills or irritable because she’s run out of pills.
But this teenager has made a decision that he will not repeat the sins of his parents. He has a goal of finishing school and getting a trade.
That’s some good news!
